EEOC Issues Revised Publication on the Employment of Veterans with Disabilities

The U.S. Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) has issued three revised documents that address the employment of veterans with disabilities. The documents discuss how the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) and the Uniformed Services Employment and Reemployment Rights Act (USERRA) apply to veteran employees and those who employ them.

Continuation of TPS Benefits

TPS (Temporary Protected Status) beneficiaries have had their EADs (Employment Authorization Documents) automatically extended through 10/04/2021. Reverification of the document should take place before work on 10/05/2021. The extension date should be reflected on the I-9. Learn more here.

Form I-9 Flexibility

At this time, the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) have extended the flexibility in complying with requirements related to Form I-9 until December 31, 2020. FrankCrum will provide updates but employers can check out the DHS and ICE websites for information about when the extensions end and normal operations resume.
