Security Breach Notification Act Amended
 
Effective January 1, 2026, Oklahoma amends the definitions of personal information and reasonable safeguards under the Security Breach Notification Act.
 
The amendments also add a requirement to notify the Attorney General under certain circumstances.

Expands Tip Credit and Meals and Lodging Credit

 
Effective November 1, 2025, the Oklahoma Minimum Wage Act is amended to provide that:

 

  • To compute the minimum wage of any nonexempt employee, credit toward the minimum required wage will be given for any tips or gratuities, meals or lodging received by the employee as long as the employer pays the minimum direct cash wage required under federal law; and
  • If the Oklahoma minimum wage should exceed the current federal minimum wage, credit toward the minimum required wage may be given for any tips or gratuities, meals or lodging received by the employee.

 

 

Use of Mobile Devices While Driving

 

Effective November 1, 2025, Oklahoma enacts a law that makes certain uses of cellular telephones and electronic communication devices unlawful on certain roads and creates exceptions. FYI for any employees that drive on company property.
