Adds Pregnant Definition To Human Rights Act
Effective August 1, 2023, the North Dakota Human Rights Act, which requires covered employers to reasonably accommodate qualified individuals who are pregnant, has been amended to define pregnant as including pregnancy, childbirth, and related medical conditions.

Exemptions from COVID-19 Vaccination
If an employer requires vaccination, employees must be allowed to be exempt by:
- Submitting proof of COVID-19 antibodies, with such proof to be valid for 6 months from the date of the antibody test;
- Submitting to periodic testing (undefined in frequency);
- Submitting a certificate from a licensed healthcare provided that the employee’s physical condition is such that immunization would endanger their life or health; or
- Submitting a certificate signed by the employee that the employee’s “religious, philosophical, or moral beliefs are opposed to such immunization”.
Does not apply to entities required to comply with federal law or rules.
