Whether the business is small or large, dealing with unemployment claims can be time-consuming and tedious, especially considering a single claimant can cost the company quite a bit of cash. Many business owners are not equipped to handle unemployment matters for a number of reasons, whether it’s a lack of experience or a lack of staff. Here are a few 2018 unemployment claim statistics: 

  • The average claimant collects $350 every week in benefits.

  • In all, $29.9 billion was paid to beneficiaries in all programs during the last calendar year (2017).
