Elections are just a few days away, and everyone should exercise their right to vote. Depending on whether your state has enacted a voting leave law, some employers may be required to pay employees for the time they take off to vote. Most states require time off pay only if the employees don’t have sufficient time to vote before or after the workday. Keep in mind that while not all states require pay for leave to vote, employers nationwide are prohibited from deducting from the pay of exempt employees for partial day absences.
